By downloading, installing, or using WisperCode (“the Software”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
WisperCode is a desktop voice-to-text dictation application that runs speech recognition models locally on your device. The Software processes audio on your machine and does not require an internet connection after the initial model download.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use WisperCode for personal or commercial use, subject to these terms. You may install the Software on devices you own or control.
You may not:
The WisperCode name, logo, visual design, user interface, documentation, and all original source code are the exclusive property of WisperCode and its creators. These are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
No right to fork or derive. You may not fork, copy, adapt, or create derivative works based on the Software — in whole or in part — without our express written authorization. This includes reproducing the Software's architecture, UI design, branding, or feature set in another product.
No right to rename or rebrand. You may not distribute, publish, or make available any version of the Software under a different name, with modified branding, or in a manner that misrepresents its origin. The WisperCode name and identity may only be used by authorized parties.
Unauthorized use of our intellectual property may result in termination of your license and legal action.
WisperCode incorporates open-source libraries, including OpenAI Whisper. These third-party components are subject to their respective licenses (e.g., MIT License). Nothing in these terms restricts your rights under those open-source licenses as they apply to those specific components.
However, the inclusion of open-source components does not grant you any rights to WisperCode's proprietary code, design, branding, or the Software as a whole. The open-source licenses apply only to the individual third-party libraries themselves, not to WisperCode as a product.
Your use of WisperCode is also governed by our Privacy Policy. In short: your audio and transcriptions stay on your device. We do not collect personal data through the Software.
You retain full ownership of all content you create using WisperCode, including transcriptions, voice notes, and custom dictionaries. We claim no rights to your content. Since all processing is local, we never have access to it.
WisperCode is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that:
Speech recognition accuracy depends on factors including microphone quality, ambient noise, accent, and the model size you select.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WisperCode and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Software, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Software shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We may release updates to WisperCode from time to time. Updates may include bug fixes, new features, or changes to functionality. You are not required to install updates, but older versions may not receive support.
You may stop using WisperCode at any time by uninstalling the Software. We may terminate or suspend your license if you violate these terms. Upon termination, you should uninstall the Software and delete all copies.
We may update these terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Software shall be resolved in the courts of Australia.
If you have questions about these terms, contact us at hello@wispercode.com.
